New repeater in our region – linking to the Wagga Repeater Network
The Wagga ARC completed the linking of VK2RTD 146.800 repeater into the WARC linked repeater system. As some of you are probably aware the club moved VK2RTD out of Mt Kendall some years ago and then to its new home on Mt Tumorrama in October last year. The linking work was completed last week. It is expected that many parts of the ACT will be able to access it as well as having some better coverage along the Hume Hwy.
We also expect to install a new system on Ikes Mountain near Tumbarumba. This will be VK2RTU and will be on 147.075 +ve offset. We expect to have it operational in early March and it too will be linked. All our repeaters use 91.5Hz subtone.
With these new systems it should be possible to have reasonable 2M coverage from just south of Goulburn, parts of Canberra and all the way out to Griffith and Albury and hence covering most of the Riverina and SW Slopes.
The Wagga club looks forward to any reports.
