CRARC repeater update
Good evening all, a long day today by a number of club members at the Bulls Head and Ginini sites.
VK1KCM, VK1CBR, VK1ED, VK1MAL and VK1IO (with VK1TSK in Canberra) reinstalled the Bulls Head Repeater today and it is fully operational.
Please note that it is presently configured with 91.5Hz CTCSS on both the transmit and receive. To access the repeater you will need to ensure that you have a 91.5Hz tone on your transmit. There is also a tone on the repeaters output if people wish to use this – note that the limitation in the repeater programming mean that the repeater ID gets sent every 9.5 minutes irrespective of whether the repeater is triggered or not. However the repeater is now configured so that it does not transmit the tone on either the tail or (and for the CWID), so if you enable tone squelch on receive then you will not hear the tail nor the CW ID.
Programming your radio
Your radio transmit
– 146.300MHz (negative 600kHz offset)
– CTCSS 91.5Hz (required)
Your radio receive
– 146.900MHz
– CTCSS tone 91.5Hz (optional if you wish to mute the tail and the repeater ID).
The work at Ginini was a little more complicated due to roadworks but in the limited time available, the guys were able to get the APRS working again, undertake Asset labelling, recover the faulty Link Qantar and conduct some path testing for the Goulburn link with the Goulburn Club.
Many Thanks to all those involved!
Matt
